Stage 02 — What makes this different

The training that was missing.

The Video Game Music Bootcamp gives you a structured, progressive path through game music composition — the way it should have been taught. Originally designed as a college-level course, refined since 2021, now taught to students worldwide from complete beginners to working professionals.

  • Not just theory — applied craft

Study and analyze VGM at a high level, then apply every technique into your own compositions.

  • Methods you won't find in school

Techniques rarely taught in traditional programs — from deep analysis of iconic VGM soundtracks.

  • Full stylistic range

Chiptunes to battle themes, groove to character themes — the styles that define the medium.

  • You finish with a portfolio

Final Portfolio Review. You leave with completed work, not just knowledge.

  • Taught by a working composer

Classical, jazz, musical theatre background — a uniquely trained ear for what makes VGM work.

Eric is a leading educator in video game music, having trained composers worldwide — with students working as indie composers and full-time studio composers on projects including Genshin Impact. He has taught at institutions such as San Francisco State University and Long Beach State, and has presented his unique video game music system at Berklee College of Music, GameSoundCon, and MAGWest.

His background spans classical composition, film music, jazz, musical theatre, and pop, both as a composer and multi-instrumentalist performer. In his college courses, he covered over 150 works from the VGM canon in a single semester. That breadth is what gives him a distinct approach: he hears deeply and broadly, and trains you to think the same way.

The bootcamp grew out of that system — structured for composers at every level, refined over half a decade, and taught to students across the US and around the world.
